Exemplary Eco-Friendly Activity by Edremit Vocational School Students

Students of Balıkesir University Edremit Vocational School came together for a environmental cleaning event organized within the scope of the "Volunteering Course" to draw attention to environmental awareness. During the event, which took place in and around the vocational school campus, students collected waste to take responsibility for a cleaner and more livable environment.

The event, aimed at helping students gain social responsibility awareness and increasing their sensitivity toward the environment, emphasized the importance of a sustainable environmental approach. Throughout the activity, students not only cleaned the environment but also raised awareness regarding nature conservation.

Prof. Dr. Selami SELVİ, Director of Edremit Vocational School, stated that as a vocational school, they attach great importance to raising students who are equipped not only with professional knowledge and skills but also with a sense of social responsibility. He expressed that such activities contribute significantly to the personal and social development of students.

Prof. Dr. Selami SELVİ also noted that environmental cleaning, volunteering activities, and social contribution projects hold an important place in the vocational school’s quality and accreditation processes. He emphasized that these types of events, carried out with the active participation of students, strengthen the approach to social contribution, sustainability, and social responsibility, which are highly valued in the accreditation processes of academic programs.

While contributing to the students' realization of their responsibilities toward society and the environment, the event also supported raising awareness for a clean environment and a sustainable future. The students concluded their activities by delivering the message that environmental protection begins with individual sensitivity.
